APRIL 2026
April 6 – Deposit Due: $500 for "30 Transformation"

The $500 deposit reserves your place for the *30 Transformation* program – a 30-day journey of cultural immersion, personal growth, and celebration across East Africa. This deposit also locks in your exclusive Ethiopian Airlines discount code for the Chicago–Nairobi route.
MAY 2026
May 5 – Remaining Balance Due: $499
Final payment of $499 completes your registration. Total cost for the core experience is $999, which includes select ground transportation, festival access, and curated cultural activities. Flight costs are separate but discounted via Ethiopian Airlines.
May 23 – Private Party at Black Wolf Lounge (Chicago)
Kick-off celebration in Chicago’s vibrant West Loop. Attendees will meet fellow travelers, receive pre-departure orientation, and enjoy live Afrobeat sets by local DJs. Ethiopian Airlines representatives will be on-site to assist with flight bookings and answer questions about the Chicago–Nairobi route.
May 24 – Chicago: "The Transformation Begins" (Group 1)
Morning send-off event at O'Hare International Airport. Participants gather for a group photo, prayer/intention circle, and boarding of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET575 to Addis Ababa, connecting to Nairobi. Complimentary festival merchandise distributed.
May 24 – Ethiopia (Destination One)
Arrival in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Day tour includes the National Museum of Ethiopia (home to "Lucy"), traditional coffee ceremony at a local house, and dinner at a cultural restaurant with live *eskista* dance performance. Overnight at Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. This stop honors Ethiopian Airlines’ home country and sets the spiritual tone for the journey.
May 25 – Slums of Kibera (Nairobi)
Community engagement day in Kibera, one of Africa’s largest urban informal settlements. Participants will visit a local school, join a drumming workshop, and hear from community leaders about resilience and innovation. The experience is designed to ground the festival in authentic social impact – not tourism.
May 26 – Nairobi (2 Days) – MAIN FESTIVAL BEGINS
Arrival at the iconic **Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC)**. Morning: private guided tour of KICC’s rooftop helipad for 360° views of Nairobi. Afternoon: opening ceremony featuring Kenyan ministers, cultural elders, and Ethiopian Airlines executives. Evening:
May 26 – NEW YEAR'S EVE ANNOUNCEMENT
During the main stage program, festival organizers reveal the official lineup, venue, and travel packages for the NYE 2026 Celebration (December 28 – January 1). Ethiopian Airlines will offer early-bird flight bundles for NYE attendees. A countdown video is projected onto KICC’s iconic tower.
May 26 – Deposit Due for NYE 2026 Celebration
Attendees who wish to secure their spot for the NYE event must pay a $300 deposit before leaving Nairobi. This deposit guarantees priority booking for NYE festival passes and the same discounted Ethiopian Airlines fares.
May 27 – May 31 – Rwanda (5 Days Tour)
Post-festival excursion to Rwanda. Itinerary includes:
May 27: Fly Ethiopian Airlines from Nairobi to Kigali. Afternoon city tour and genocide memorial.
May 28: Canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park.
May 29: Cultural village visit in Musanze; optional gorilla trekking briefing.
May 30: Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park.
May 31 Lake Kivu boat trip and farewell dinner. Return to Nairobi in the evening.
JUNE 2026
June 1 – June 29 – Nairobi Tour (Full Month Experience)
A 29-day deep dive into Nairobi’s creative and cultural scene. Daily activities include:
- Swahili language classes (mornings)
- Art workshops at Kuona Trust Art Centre
- Visits to Maasai Market, Giraffe Centre, and David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
- Nightly festival "pop-ups" at KICC’s outdoor amphitheater (Afrobeats dance classes, spoken word, fashion shows)
- Weekends: day trips to Hell’s Gate National Park, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli (views of Kilimanjaro)
- June 26: Special "Ethiopian Airlines Day" – career talks, cabin crew meet-and-greet, and a mock in-flight dining experience at KICC.
JULY 2026
July 4 – Private Party at Toriano's Home (Chicago)
Independence Day reunion for all Afro Nights travelers. BBQ, photo slideshow, and storytelling. Announcement of early-bird registration for Afro Nights 2027.
AUGUST 2026
August 4 – Private Party at Toriano's Home (Chicago)
Mid-summer mixer and fundraiser for the Kibera school project. Live auction of African art pieces collected during the Nairobi Tour. Ethiopian Airlines donates two round-trip tickets to Chicago–Nairobi as a raffle prize.
NOVEMBER 2026
November 1 – Nairobi, Kenya Expansion – COMPLETE
Official launch of the Afro Nights Festival’s permanent office and cultural hub in Nairobi, located just two blocks from KICC. The expansion includes a co-working space for African creatives, a small amphitheater for weekly music nights, and a booking center for Ethiopian Airlines flights. This milestone solidifies the festival’s year-round presence in Kenya.
All NYE attendees receive the exclusive Ethiopian Airlines discount for travel between Chicago and Nairobi (book by October 31, 2026).
